Mark Lotz New Standard Quartet

New Standard Quartet is a celebration of the Jazz canon, focusing on lesser known songs from the American Songbook. In a different sound, matched with a keen sense of dramaturgy and fantasy. The CD release Blue Moods With The Mark Lotz Quartet received high international acclaim. Lotz also collaborates in Jazz music with Turkish foremost singer Sibel Köse in the Sibel Köse/Mark Lotz project.

“This quartet is showing an empathy and interplay worthy of some of the great small bands in jazz history.” (Pan, UK)

“Lotz’s chosen instrument sets him apart, of course, but so does his skill as an improviser. He’s a daring, spontaneous soloist, who manages to invest the flute with the sort of earthiness one might more logically expect from a saxophonist.” (All Music, USA)

“Blue Moods is one of the most satisfying flute-jazz offerings in recent memory.” (All About Jazz, USA)

“Lotz experienced and cristal clear playing fascinated the audience.” (General Anzeiger, Germany)
