Alan Purves & Mark Lotz in an emotional roller coaster full of imagination
Alan Purves & Mark Lotz in an emotional roller coaster full of imagination
A meeting in music by two free spirits on the top of their game. Percussion and surprising sound objects meet the family of of flutes and electronics.
Two modernists in a quest for reinvention. Music which is sensual and moving.
Purves & Lotz love to play with the emotions of the audience. They give the audience a hint of an emotion, but just to surprise with another. They will be responsible for tears and laughter.
Music that sparkles with imagination. Free of conventions, continuously balancing on the edge of the eve of discovery.

Raised in Thailand, Uganda and Germany my appetite for musical adventures takes me all over the globe. Always on the lookout for vibrant collaborations with unique voices in music, far from conventional, hitting the essence and celebrate life.
I deliver a sound, giving my instrument dimension and depth and I love to casually shatter any stereotypes around the flute. My solo recitals in contemporary music, interpretations of Afro Cuban religious folklore, West African Fula music and Turkish free improvised music especially gained much international acclaim.
Obsessed by music I use my voice to reach a world beyond. I surrender completely to artistic expression.
Professor for flute at the Utrecht and Rotterdam Conservatories.
