↓ TurkeyApril and May sees jazz & improvised music concerts in Turkey with many old and many new friends. In the past 20 years I have been many times in Turkey. It has been a privilege to work with some of the finest Turkish artists and to release three albi with Turkish musicians. My first collaboration was with bassist/composer Kamil Erdem, known for a.o. his legendary work with Asia Minor. Concerts followed with the first lady of Jazz in Turkey Sibel Kose and many others. Another highlight were my collaborations in improvised music with Istanbul’s first improvising ensemble, ‘The Wet Dogs’, Islak Köpek and guitarist Umut Caglar. Out of this the projects IstanPOOL and the Duo with electronic musician Korhan Erel evolved.

↓ Our new CD release ‘Freshta‘ got excellent response, which resulted in reviews and specials in radio shows all over the globe. ↓

The radio program JazzFacts published a special on my life and music and broadcasted it at Hessischer Rundfunk and Deutschlandfunk. If interested, the broadcast still is online here. ↓ I have been visiting the ‘Pearl of Africa’: Uganda. I grew up there and finally, after 50 years, I am back. My stay was magic, not only because of jamming with local musicians in Kampala’s nightclubs, but also because I was able to give many instruments give many instruments to the M-Lisada organisation. Please check them out and donate. They do well.
